When I was visiting Sidney, BC with my fiancé this past summer I heard that there was an antique car show happening just outside of Sidney in Saanichton, BC which is located on the island close to Victoria. I’m so glad I ended up going to the car show inside the Saanich Historical Artifacts Society as I thought it would be a perfect to combine my two favourite things-rusty things and antique cars! As it turns out I right as it were so many colourful cars there. Just look at the first car, with the So-Lo 11 bright orange rims, and the light turquoise paint job. Or the bright teal car with space age windows, you wouldn’t think they were vintage cars, would you? Or even the old Hotrod that was bright orange and yellow. My favourite car was the VW van, as it was pretty unique on its own as it had antlers on top, and also covered in rust. ♥
There’s also a working train for kids to enjoy, and the rest of the museum is a rusty graveyard for farm equipment and old train cars go to collect together in magnificent rusty glory. There’s a ton of old grain silo’s, farming gears, and an abandoned tractor. There’s also a ton of cars and buses that were left, all scattered around the grounds. It’s like I’ve died and gone to photography heaven! 🙂
