HAD to share an amazing couple’s wedding from July 4th–Erin & Clark’s bollywood themed wedding at the Berkeley Field House , Toronto. Here’s a writeup from Erin on how her and Clark met, fell in love, and had the wedding of their dreams:

After a brief chance encounter in Las Vegas, Erin and Clark and started a whirlwind international love affair. Their worlds were very different. Erin was of Goan, Indian and British decent living as Senior Political Advisor in Toronto, Canada and Clark was from Michigan but working and living in Los Angeles, California. They spent the next two and half years burning vacation days, airmiles and time changes commuting to see one another. It culminated with Clark proposing where they had gone on their first date in Toronto and to Erin’s surprise, her family was waiting there to celebrate.

They decided to marry at the Berkeley Fieldhouse in Toronto on July 4th, 2014. The central theme of the wedding was the celebration of their heritages. “I wasn’t sure how I could pull off California Bohemian meets Indian Bollywood in Canada on US Independence Day and do so in a relaxed and classy manner”, said Erin.

Every detail was thoughtfully crafted. Erin’s dad designed the wedding invitations and menus, with the Bollywood theme in mind.

Erin’s former mentor and boss, Moira McIntyre who also was responsible for approving all of her vacation time as they dated, married Erin and Clark at 6:30pm. The outdoor ceremony was amazingly short but emotional at the Berkeley Fieldhouse.

The decor was warm, romantic and showcased hints of an Indian “Bollywood” feel. It was highlighted by large gold elephants that were imbedded in an exotic and colourful flowerbed which stood as centerpieces at each table. “I may have bought every elephant in the City of Toronto and still find hints of gold spray paint around my house, but together with my florist, we pulled off my unique vision”. Each table was also named after Indian flowers and sayings, which were in gold frames sitting adjacent to the centerpieces. Erin sourced ornate Indian bells from a display from a California store, Free People and hung them in a shape of a heart over the head table. Men were gifted with Cuban cigars, while the women were presented with beautiful and colourful Indian bangles reading their intimate note “Love You More”.

Instead of a traditional cake, the couple opted for a cheese platter paired their favourite Las Vegas drinks of Veuve Cliquot and Aged Port and dessert table. They continued the evening dancing up a storm to some of their old time favourite Motown and Bangra beats with plenty of bindis available for women to wear. Of course, US Independence Day in Canada wouldn’t complete without a midnight food station with Americans favourite pulled pork sliders and Canadian’s poutine!

The wedding showcased who we are, our love and love for our family and friends and that to us made the day pure bliss and perfection.
