I photographed Mimi & Shawn’s and their daughter Lilianne’s family last April, at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby! They chose that location for their photos- and of course I was so overjoyed as I love photographing there! It was springtime which is my favourite season. Everything comes alive and is so vibrant!! All of the cherry blossoms trees were blooming perfectly and falling everywhere on the green grass- looking like a fairytale! 🌷🌿 I used my tilt shift lens a lot that day, but my favourite photo is definitely the first photo of them together sitting on a blanket underneath the tree. It was also a sunny day so everything lit up -looking like heaven on earth! Luckily we got to shoot when we did or else it might be gone the next day. They are originally from Quebec and we hit off really well as I know french and could understand every time they would speak to each other in french. It also was very reminiscent of a french fairytale or movie! I loved what they were wearing as well, Mimi was dressed in a denim maxi dress with black tights, and Lilianne was wearing a matching one, but hers had more detailing on the collar and neckline with white lace. Shawn looked handsome as well in a blue cardigan sweater.
Mimi was actually pregnant as well but she is too early to show, so we did some sweet photos of her 2 year old daughter Lilianne kissing her belly and then running away! Fast forward to present day and their new baby boy Theodore is 6 months, and Lilianne is 3 years old. 💕Time flies! At least Lilianne has a brother now, and has someone to play with.
One of favourite photos was of her running away with her head cropped out, where the cherry blossoms had fallen. I got a lot of walking/running photos as 2 year olds are very active and it’s hard to capture them. haha! There was so much build up of cherry blossoms that had fallen. When I was doing a photo of them laying on the ground, they were rolling around in the blossoms -looked like they were having a cherry blossom fight as they are stuck everywhere, especially the bottom of their feet! Mimi and Shawn are the cutest couple ever, and the best parents ever. They are super patient and positive people which is such a reflection of their daughter- she was so full of laughter and hilarious expressions! 💕
