Alissa & Sean’s wedding was so memorable I’m still obsessing over all the romantic details. Of course their choices of venues were TO DIE FOR! Their wedding day was the first weekend in April, and it did rain a tiny bit but thank god the heavy rains held off for most of the day. They both got ready at the King Edward Hotel in Toronto. Alissa had so many details from her bright colourful robe to her antique hair clip, and her tulle overlay dress with a gorgeous lace open back. The most important thing of all was the fact that she wore jewelled Badgley Mischka FLATS. Finally someone who is smart and wants to be comfortable– that’s what I’ll be doing at my wedding. 🙂
Alissa & Sean saw each other for the first time inside the hotel- after a long trip (for them) down the elevator…they finally saw each other! It was pure magic, you could feel them falling in love all over again! I always love doing the first look, it never gets old as there’s always so much build up!
Before the ceremony I got some interesting shots of the wedding party. The bridesmaids had on beautiful vintage looking nude dresses, that had darker jewelled details running up and down them. They also carried beautiful white flowers that complemented Alissa’s vision. I got some fun shots of the groomsmen in front of PJ O’Brien’s pub.
They had the ceremony and reception at one of my favourite venues as I mentioned at the Rosewater Restaurant. It has two levels, the upstairs for events, and the downstairs where the cocktail hour was. It has Roman style architecture with a ton of modern twists: It has giant chandeliers hanging down the whole upstairs, and a life size peacock painting on one of the walls, and my favourite detail is a live rose wall made of glass which was so much fun to play with! The ceremony was upstairs as it’s a lot more private up there. Their wedding ceremony was very sweet but also very funny. The couple shared a ton of laughter during their vows.
After the ceremony the guests had their cocktail hour downstairs and then we headed back upstairs to start the reception. The guests had a terrific time dancing. The speeches were short and sweet so they could focus on having good time. The whole day was super heart warming and I only wish the best for Alissa & Sean.
If you would like to see more of these two-check out their fall engagement shoot at Brickworks-also one of my favourite venues! ♥
